Netravasti or Akshitarpana is especially a treatment for the eyes. In this treatment, patient has to lie on his back in the wooden treatment table. The medicated ghee is poured over the patient’s closed eyes in a black gram paste boundary, then he has to slowly open the eyes. The ghee is retained in the eyes for not more than five minutes. After the treatment, eyes should not be exposed to strong sunlight for sometime. It relieves tension and fatigue, improves eyesight and balances the nervous system, and specially indicated for Glaucoma, Conjunctivitis and Night blindness.
